This exquisite bust is an impressive example of Baroque sculpture from Italy. The bust, presumably representing “Winter”, is crafted from Carrara marble and dates back to approximately 1700. The piece originates from the Venice region and is attributed to, or made in the style of, the sculptor Orazio Marinali.

The back of the bust is roughly finished, with visible chisel marks that highlight the hand-carved craftsmanship, adding to the authenticity and unique character of this artwork. The marble base is of a later date.
